Me, myself and my alter ego

i  am a post-graduate researcher at the Neural networks research centre, hosted by the Laboratory of computer & information science, Helsinki university of technology. My research is in the area of interference cancellation using blind source separation techniques.

Before starting out to work towards my Ph.D, i worked for DaimlerChrysler AG, Ulm, Germany, as a  researcher in the department of transportation telematics.  i attended graduate school at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Ulm, Germany.  During my stay at Ulm, i worked in the department of information technology as a research assistant.

Originally from India, i graduated from Bharathiar University, India, in Electronics & Communication engineering, after which i worked at the DaimlerChrysler Research and Technology Centre, Bangalore.

While, i am researcher, my interests range from science to spirituality. My alter ego has been interested these days in productivity enhancement. Experiments in this field have been reading and applying David Allen's Getting Things Done. i am in the process of adapting existing methods and crafting my own method.

Generally, an avid reader, i enjoy the works of Salman Rushdie (Wow! nothing can compare to his monumental work: The Midnight's Children), Vikram Seth, Margrat Artwood, Ian McEwan, and J. K. Rowling among many others. Literature aside, i love to write, and travel. Scientific conferences have taken me around the world from San Francisco to Sydney, Helsinki to Osaka. A deep insight into the history of these cities (San Francisco, Sydney), and the spirituality of these cultures (Beijing, Nara), have naturally expanded my outlook towards people of different nationalities and cultures. Moving around countries, meeting people and experiencing different cultures contribute in making a person a global citizen.
