Software implementations of the SOM

Below is listed a number of freely or commercially available software packages that implement the SOM algorithm. A more complete list of neural network software can be found from Neural Network FAQ.

In some of the items below, you can find a link to the evaluation of the software (with respect to their SOM implementation). The evaluation was done as a student project, and it took awhile (first one is from summer 1998), so it may be that some of the evaluations aren't really uptodate. Take them with a grain of salt, and check out if there is a new version of the program out.
